We are supporting PCPM’s Medical Team and its activities in Ukraine

Ukraine and Poland
humanitarian aid

In December 2013 the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) set up a medical rapid-response team in order to provide medical help to the victims of natural disasters and humanitarian catastrophes outside of the territory of Poland.

The first action undertaken by PCPM’s Medical Team took place in Ukraine in February 2014. At Kiev’s Maidan square, Polish medical rescuers organized a medical rescue point for the injured. At the same time, medical materials and dressings were collected in Poland. Polish rescuers from PCPM’s Medical Team contributed to the visible presence of Poland in Ukraine at the time of the recent events unfolding in this country.

STAGES

In the months to come, PCPM’s Medical Team will achieve the capacity to dispatch within 24 to 48 hours a group from 4 to 10 medical doctors and rescuers to regions affected by natural disasters (such as earthquakes, tsunami or flooding) or humanitarian crises in the countries Africa, Middle East and Asia, as well as in Poland.
