The Balkans have been affected by the largest floods since measurements began 120 years ago...

The flooding in the Balkans started on 12 May 2014. For 120 years, that is the period since measurements were registered for the first time, it has been the largest recorded flood in this region. There were over 50 fatalities and the material losses are comparable to the ones inflicted by the Balkan wars. This is why on 19th May Kulczyk Foundation and the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) decided to provide joint assistance to that region.

The Rescue Team of PCPM, supported by Kulczyk Foundation, initiated the estimation of aid needs in Northern Bosnia and Hercegovina, that is the region most affected by the flooding, on 26 of May.

The goal of the mission, funded by Kulczyk Foundation, is to prepare a large-scale aid campaign for the inhabitants of the borderland of Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia and Serbia, on whom the flooding took the heaviest toll.

The Rescue Team of PCPM, joined by Dominika Kulczyk on 28th May, is preparing reports on the aid needs. They will form the basis for further joint actions. The reports prepared by the Rescue Team of PCPM can be downloaded from Kulczyk Foundation’s website, as well as from a relief information source at http://reliefweb.int.
